Bridge for Beginners
Bridge is a stimulating card game which will greatly improve your powers of reasoning as well as your short term memory. It is also an extremely social game where you will make many new friends. Our thursday morning sessions are a powerful antidote to social isolation and all forms of passive digital entertainment.
This course is for players who are totally new to the game of Bridge. We provide an introduction to the game to complete novices in easy stages and in a relaxed and non-competitive environment. All learning materials and lessons are provided.
Our next course starts on 10th September and will run until June 2027. We meet weekly on a Thursday from 10am to 12pm at the Olive Tree Community Centre in Chapel Road, Penketh, Warrington, WA5 2NB. Free parking is available on site or in the Co-op car park opposite.
As all the Bridge groups prefer to meet weekly rather than the standard fortnightly there will be a cost of £1 per meeting to pay for this additional room hire.

Bridge for Improvers
We also offer a 10 month follow-on course giving members a chance to improve their level of playing Bridge. This will also suit people who have played before but perhaps need a gentle re-introduction to the game before joining our main Bridge group which meets on a Tuesday at Alford Sports & Social Club.
You can join this group at any time as you already have Bridge experience.
This group also meets weekly on a Thursday from 10am to 12pm at the Olive Tree Community Centre in Chapel Road, Penketh, Warrington, WA5 2NB. Free parking is available on site or in the Co-op car park opposite.
As all the Bridge groups prefer to meet weekly rather than the standard fortnightly there will be a cost of £1 per meeting to pay for this additional room hire.
Bridge at the Next Level
Warrington Bridge Club offer a more advanced course which is designed to be a follow on to the Beginners and Improvers courses run by Warrington U3A. These sessions aim to continue your progress in learning bridge and to introduce you to playing Duplicate Bridge. Lessons are also held at Alford Sports & Social Club on a Thursday morning.
