Online Group Leader Peter Coglan

The Latin Group meets fortnightly online on Wednesdays at 10:30am.

We are studying the Cambridge Latin Course, and are currently on Book IV. The Course combines tuition in the language with interesting information about life in the Roman Empire over 2000 years ago. We are free to widen the discussion and to pursue topics of general linguistic or historical interest, particularly to recognise the profound influence of Latin on the English we speak today.

The group currently has around 6 members. New members are always welcome.

Currently the group meets online via Microsoft Teams. There is no need to install Microsoft Teams — a hyperlink is sent to members, who should be able to access the sessions using most Windows or iOS based desktops, laptops, or tablets. There are no plans for a beginners’ group, but this could be considered if there was sufficient interest.
