New Ten Pin Bowling Group
Two of our newer members, David and Julie Beesley, are planning to start a Tenpin Bowling group early in the new year. They hosted a similar group in Grantham before moving to Warrington in July.
The group will meet fortnightly on a Wednesday morning at 11am at "Tenpin Warrington", 10-15 Chetham Court, Warrington WA2 8RF. The bowling alley is not usually busy at this time, so lane capacity should not be a problem, except during school holidays. We anticipate alternating with the Crown Green Bowling group on Wednesdays during the Summer.
Everyone is welcome, whatever their bowling ability, so just join David and Julie for a bit of fun and friendly conversation. They will be there on the first day, having a cup of coffee in the cafe area, at 10.45 on the 7th January 2026.
In the first instance can you let David know of your potential interest by contacting him via the Ten Pin Bowling Group page, where you can also find the proposed dates of the first few meetings.
easyfundraising
We all know that prices for everything are going up. This includes our u3a, where the costs of the venues have all increased. To counteract this we can either reduce outgoings or increase income. The committee have been busy trying to reduce outgoings and looking for ways to increase income. easyfundraising is one possible way to get extra income and help limit any increases in our subs next year. Did you know that whenever you buy anything online — from your weekly shop to your annual holiday — you could be raising free donations for Warrington U3A with easyfundraising?
There are over 7,000 brands on board ready to make a donation — including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S — and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
All you need to do is:
1. Go to easyfundraising and join for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.
3. After you’ve checked out, the brand will make a donation to Warrington U3A at no extra cost to you whatsoever!
There are no catches or hidden charges, and Warrington u3a will be really grateful for your donations.
