The American Square Dance Group meets at Alford Hall, Manchester Road, Warrington, WA1 3NJ at 10:00am on Monday mornings. There is a large free car park at the rear of the hall, or it is a five-minute journey on bus 3 or 100 from Warrington bus station.
American Square Dancing is “Fun and Friendship set to Music” and all are welcome to join our group. Please come along and join us as we practice a form of dancing that is danced in most countries of the world. No experience is necessary and if you haven't got a partner, that isn't a problem either. Casual dress is usually worn.
We dance using the Basic Programme, which is aimed at members with little or no previous knowledge of square dance. We use the Mainstream Programme for those who have been with the group for longer. Experienced Dancers are always very welcome to come along.
Square Dancing is a particularly social form of dancing.
Our Group
The Warrington U3A Square Dance Group goes by the name of Warrington Golden Squares.
Our dance leaders are not “accredited” square dance callers or teachers, just dancers who very much enjoy square dancing and do their best to help our group members, in the true U3A fashion.
