Walk: From Ringley village, 5 miles along the Croal Valley. Good paths and no stiles, toilets halfway round.

Directions: Coming from Warrington on A667, immediately after the bridge across the River Irwell take the first right turn into Fold Road at the sign “Giants Seat”. Pub is on the left, with a small car park, or you can park on the road.
