| Description | Approx 7 miles, easy walk with no stiles, mainly flat with a few easy inclines. Good paths and tracks, but some mud in places. The first part of the walk takes us through an old industrial area on the boundary of Salford and Bolton, which has now largely been reclaimed by nature. We follow an old railway line, a long disused canal and the river Irwell, taking a break at the Meccano Bridge, before walking into the woods at Moses Gate country park. Hopefully we will get some late autumn colour, as much of the walk takes in woodland. Please bring a packed lunch. |
| Directions | Postcode M26 1FT, park on the road opposite the Horseshoe Pub, Fold Rd, Ringley Village, Radcliffe. From M60 take M61, keep right and take exit to Farnworth/Kearsley.
