Meet: For 10:30 start from the Pickering Arms at Thelwall (Bell Lane WA4 2SU What3words ///assume.appointed.contemplate)

Walk: From the Pickering Arms we will take the bridle path that runs parallel to the Manchester Ship Canal to Statham, if it’s not too muddy we will cross the old river Mersey dry bed. At Statham we will take the Trans Pennine Trail into Lymm. Coffee and cake at the Sanctuary Cafe before heading back to Thelwall via the Bridgewater Canal Towpath and the Trans Pennine Trail. About 5 miles, fairly flat, no stiles.

Other: Toilets available before the start. Please let me know if you would like to join the walk and whether you are staying for lunch.
