| Time: | 10:30 am |
| Group: | Walking |
Meet: For a 10:30 start at the Great House Barn, (Lower Barn ) Rivington , BL6 7SB. What3Words ///cares.stall.graceful. Parking at the Barn, (toilets), but if full you can park on the road going north from the lower to the upper barn.
Walk: The walk goes up through the Terraced Gardens built by Lord Lever in the early 1900s and renovated more recently. Good paths, interesting architectural and water features . Then there is a climb up to the tower on Rivington Pike. An optional alternative for those who do not want to do the final climb is to walk around the pike and meet up with the group at the bottom of the descent from the top. From here we walk along a rocky road, and descend, possibly with a short detour to some waterfalls. Eventually we are on a flat section towards Liverpool Castle and Anglezarke Reservoir for a stroll back to the car park. The water features were dry when we did this walk before, but it might be different this time. Distance: 6 - 7 miles depending on which route we take. Approximately 1100 ft climb.
Other: Bring a packed lunch. Coffee and cake available at the Lower Barn after the walk.
Leader: Roger Sparkman t: 07710 189429 or WharsApp. Please let me know if you are coming.
