Start: at Bolton Abbey, near Skipton using the Village Car park (What3words ///lease.speeded.fellow, postcode BD23 6EX)
Walk: A charming walk on the Bolton Abbey/Devonshire Estate walking down to the Abbey church and ruins, and walking alongside the river to the Pavillion Cafe and toilets. Coffee and comfort stop. Walking past the famous Strid to the Viaduct Bridge and returning on a higher path back above the river back to the bridge near the Pavillion Cafe. Continue back along the river bank to the Village car park. 6.2 miles, good paths, mostly level. May be some stiles.
Lunch: Suggest bringing a packed lunch or snack. There are places where you can shorten the walk if you wish. This will be an easy-going day with folks deciding what they’d like to do after the walk, but recommend Fish n Chips in Skipton, a meal at Wetherspoons or other hostelry.
Other info: I need to know if you are definitely coming please and whether you can offer a lift (how many) or would prefer to ask for a lift. Car parking fee, per car, is £12.50. IF THE WEATHER FORECAST IS BAD, THIS WALK WILL BE CANCELLED.
