This group meets in the Ballroom at Alford Hall, Manchester Rd, Warrington WA1 3NJ every 4 weeks on a Thursday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Make Music Rock Group is where experienced musicians meet to perform collectively and in small groups. We work on a small selection of enjoyable musical numbers which we are building up into a well rehearsed 'repertoire'. Working in small groups and as a whole, we develop the various aspects af songs, such as Intro, Outro, Turnarounds, Breaks etc. before bringing the whole piece together for performance.

We will provide some basic music but the group is advised to look at this U3A website page for more detailed information. The type of songs we propose to play include Rhythm & Blues, Swing, Pop.

Finally, the instruments that we have in mind include guitar, keyboard/piano, bass (guitar or double), drums, harmonica — with a view to expanding this, to include Sax, Clarinet, Trumpet etc to create a brass/woodwind section.

Due to the nature of the sessions, group numbers are kept relatively small, so there will be a waiting list.
